We’ve handpicked the gossip-worthy celebrity stories that will get the group chat talking nonstop this weekend.
For the week of Jan 11 to 17:
The Spotlight: Teyana Taylor’s career hits new heights
From her much talked-about role in 2025’s “One Battle After Another” and “All’s Fair” to Netflix’s buzzy release “The Rip,” Teyana Taylor has turned heads with a stellar run in TV and film. All the work she’s put in culminated on the stage of last Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony, where she took home the award for Best Supporting Actress, notching another historic win for Black actresses in Hollywood.
Beyond sharing snaps of the star’s daring red carpet looks, fans old and new have been looking back at the journey Taylor took to get here with a fair bit of nostalgia. Clips of her 2007 episode on “My Super Sweet 16” have us convinced that she has always been an icon and wondering why it took so long for Hollywood to recognize it.
What got fans heated: Bruno Mars drops “I Just Might” single
Fans haven’t been able to stop talking about Bruno Mars’ newest single, “I Just Might,” since it dropped on Jan 9. Comment sections online have been active with debates between longtime fans praising the single as a new, certified R&B hit and others who are a little more critical, claiming it’s the “same old same old” Bruno formula.
Either way, the single has certainly put his upcoming album, “The Romantic,” on people’s radar, with over 37 million views on the single’s music video. They’ll just have to decide whether they want more of Bruno’s signature retro sound.
The Drama: Tichina Arnold and Brian Austin Green’s secret dating history
Tichina Arnold ignited another kind of debate after her appearance on Deon Cole’s “Funny Knowing You” podcast, where she reflected on her past relationship with Brian Austin Green (known best for “90210”). Arnold was brutally honest, saying that at the time, although she enjoyed their time together, she ultimately had a feeling that Green would not end up marrying a Black woman.
For his part, Green has recently come out to say Arnold, who was still in her iconic role as Pam on “Martin” at the time, told him that it was best to keep their relationship a secret. The whole situation has had viewers thinking about the challenges of balancing a relationship in the public eye and reminding themselves that there are two sides to every story that catches fire online.
