THE MAIN EVENT. Chanel Omari Sweating with Smirnoff, Hanging with Hart & Dining with Divas!By Chanel Omari | January 17, 2014 | Gals On The Town
Dear DivaGal readers, it’s been a while but I am back! Wednesday night was a night filled with major events, and I am so thrilled to be sharing with you my Princess Diva diary recap on it all!
What better way to kick off the New Year with some dancing and fitness with Dancing With the Stars‘ Karina Smirnoff at JCPenney’s New Year, New You fitness event.
This Dancing Diva gave me some major tips to get my coco booty in to shape and how to be a #newhealthyme in 2014. I was able to see a preview of the new fitness collection from JCPenney. Karina told me that she is excited to partner up with JCPenney for this line of workout clothing, which is a way for people to feel good from the inside out as they fit the body in all the right places. Well she is so right because I love my new outfit from JCPenney’s exclusive Xersion and Citystreet active wear line. They are so comfortable while still making you feel sexy and cool.
Karina also introduced me to one of her signature drinks, Karina’s Double D, a refreshing mixture of carrots, ginger, fennel, apple, carrots and mint. I took one shot of that and felt like a whole new me. These drinks will help you keep in shape, fit and healthy! Every Princess Diva needs to incorporate these drinks in their diet for a healthy new you in 2014. After getting a full work out by the dancing queen and detoxing, I was fresh and ready to walk the red carpet for the Ride Along movie premiere and got to chat with some of the cast, including my all time favorite, Kevin Hart. He and his castmates Tika Sumpter and Ice Cube graced the red carpet at AMC Loews Lincoln Square for the big east coast screening.
Fans and press surrounded the funniest man of 2014, who greeted all while his beautiful partner in life and future wife Eniko Parrish supported him on and off the red carpet. Kevin told me exclusively how he and Eniko keep their relationship hot and steamy: “A lot of laughter, support and love,” he declared. “We have been going strong for five years and she loves me and supports me and that’s what keeps us going.” I asked him if she could be the future Mrs. Hart one day and he said, “it’s definitely something in the talks ΓǪ she is definitely my future” I seriously melted when he said that. The hot couple looked in love and happy throughout the entire night. It’s always nice to see a Hollywood couple really stand by each other and not let the glitz and glam get the best of them. To all my Diva readers, there might be a wedding very soon so stay tuned because only DivaGals will give you that exclusive!
The movie focuses on a chatty high-school security guard (Kevin Hart) who takes a ride-along through AtlantaΓÇÖs tough streets with soon-to-be brother-in-law and top police detective (Ice Cube) to prove his worthiness of marrying the detectiveΓÇÖs younger sister (Tika Sumpter). Ladies and gents, this movie is a perfect date night. I was laughing so hard! I can guarantee you don’t want to miss out. Tika was rocking a chic bob that looked sexy and fierce and stylist June Ambrose looked dashing and chic on the carpet. I myself had the honor to walk the red carpet rocking a black lace dress from Mystique Boutique as well as a headpiece from my new hair accessory collection ΓÇô more deets coming soon!
The night’s carpet was overwhelmingly packed with some of my favorite celebrities who embraced the night in stellar fashion: Tristan “Mack” Wilds from 90210 and hit series The Wire, and Think Like a Man‘s Romany Malco ΓÇô the sequel to this comic dating how-to set to premiere in 2014. Bow Wow and music mogul Jermaine Dupri also came out to support the charming cast.
My girl from my Bravo family, Blood, Sweat & Heel‘s Melyssa Ford was rocking a hot green spandex dress that caught everyone’s eye. Ladies, if you want to catch a man when it comes to fashion, it’s all about colors, and green speaks volumes.
After an awesome workout laughing my heart out with Hart at the premiere, my starving self ended up at Sophia Italian Grill restaurant, one of the hottest new spots in midtown. In coco style, I enjoyed the night with my fellow DivaGals taking in the amazing ambiance, music and appetizers, including rice balls that tasted a little like heaven. The staff took great care of us, making sure our glasses were always overflowing with vino. They weren’t too hard on the ears either! Great place for a date and/or to meet a guy, ladies! You heard it here first. Until next time! Princess Diva Coco
