There was some Beauty going on this weekend in New York City. Beauty, an upcoming Netflix film, held its world premiere at the SVA Theatre in Manhattan as part of the Tribeca Film Festival.

Beauty is the story of a gifted young Black woman who struggles to maintain her voice and identity after she’s offered a lucrative recording contract. It sets off a fierce battle between her family, the label and her closest friend over who will guide her as she makes the journey to becoming a star.

The evening’s guests included Lena Waithe, Giancarlo Esposito, Gracie Marie Bradley, Aleyse Shannon and Kyle Bary.

Beauty premieres on Netflix Wednesday, June 29
