The TV DivaGal totally thinks you should watch Modern Family tonight, which explores new themes on family. Trust me, it’s pretty hilarious.
Need convincing? Well, it’s worth tuning in to see Ty Burrell, who plays Phil, the paternal head of the series “traditional” family, try to be cool with his three kids by dancing to “We’re All In This Together” from High School Musical.
“It gets worse,” Ty revealed to me at NYTV Festival this week. Seriously?
“Phil really wants to do a great job as a dad. But he’s like the dog who comes into the room, who is happy to see everybody like itΓÇÖs the first time, and his wagging tail is just knocking over things in the room.”
Adds Julie Bowen, who plays Claire, his stressed-out wife and mom of three, “Even our kids see in their dad that he’s just a big, dumb friendly lab.”
Well, at least they’ve got the whole pet thing covered.
Catch the series premiere of Modern Family, Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
