SHOW YOU GOTTA WATCH TONIGHT: So You Think You Can Dance, The Ones I'm Watching!
By Delaina Dixon | June 23, 2010 | EntertainmentTV DivaGal loves her some So You Think You Can Dance (I double up my dance classes every summer!).
This season’s contestants are the most technically advanced dancers ever, and paired with the All-Stars who already excel, it could become a bit of a snoozefest if you’re looking for someone to really grow over the course of the season.
Luckily, there are four who can truly evolve over this experience and blossom into stars before our eyes!
Cristina Santana: She tore apart her jazz routine number with All-Star Mark, so it was a real bummer to see her in the bottom three. She’s our best chance to see a salsa dancer transcend any form of dance, if America only gives her the chance to do it.
Adechikie Torbert: The most technical of this bunch, Adechikie has had it rough from the judges since Las Vegas Week, and they ripped apart his pop jazz performance last week. Adechikie has so much heart, you can see how badly he wants to make this work. Let’s hope he gets a little cheeky as the season moves on and sways the judges back to his side.
Jose “Full Deck” Ruiz: With no professional dance training, Jose will be the “b-boy” who rises to the occasion this season. His trade secret? Those yoga poses that have made him limber enough to pull off a contemporary number. And that dazzling smile doesn’t hurt either.
Kent Boyd: Kent’s got the skills, which are still raw and green. But as he says himself, I’m “determined, fresh and ready.” If he truly digs deep to find the man within the boy, and keeps a little of that “awww, shucks” attitude along the way, he’ll easily make the top four.
So You Think You Can Dance airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
