Six Easy Fitness Tips To Do Right Now To Get Rid Of Your Self-Quarantine Body

If self-quarantining has your clothes fitting tighter than they used to, it’s time to get back in shape! It’s been reported that people have gained up to 16 lbs. since self-quarantine guidelines went into effect. Yep Divas, we ate tons of ice cream as well!

The most difficult part of getting back in shape is getting started. But don’t worry DivaGals. You know we got you covered with some easy tips you can put into effect today to feel stronger and healthier tomorrow.

SET ASIDE CONSISTENT TIME. If you are like most people, you probably have a preferred time to work out. There are some of us who like to get up and get going first thing in the morning. And then there are others who get their sweat on at the end of the day. And hey, if we’re being honest, one isn’t necessarily better than the other. What’s most important is to find what time works best for you. And then to stick to it. You wouldn’t skip a Zoom meeting at work or a masked doctor’s appointment. This is why it is a good idea to treat your workout with the same level of commitment. It takes time to establish new and healthy habits and the best way to make them permanent is to be consistent with them for 21 days. You should aim for spending 30 minutes a day being physically active and working out about three times a week.

FIND THE RIGHT EXERCISE. It’s pretty simple; you will not be motivated to do something you don’t enjoy. But once you find an exercise, class or workout that you really enjoy, you’ll hit that Zoom class/YouTube Live/#beRevolutionarie Yoga session with Recie Munson (pictured up top) in no time.  Hate running? How about a hip-hop dance class instead? Weight-training too boring? Why not try a body-weight based routine that’s certain to get your heart racing and your muscles pulsing. Be sure to practice social distancing while playing.

VARY YOUR WORKOUT. When it comes to working out, cross-training is one of the best ways to get results with your body. If you’re a beginner, you can stick with beginner ab workouts to flatten that belly, and add in some cardio and weight-bearing exercises. A jump rope will give you the best of both worlds.
