It’s #LifestyleWednesday, and we’re traveling to the town that’s got “hot” built into its nickname!
TV DivaGal recently took a trip to Atlanta, affectionately called “Hotlanta” by those in the know.
Traveling with a newborn in tow, we needed lodgings that could offer everything from crib space to a full kitchen for bottle storage. Twelve. Hotel & Residences Centennial Park served up all these amenities in our one-bedroom suite.
An ample space with two double beds, an over-sized bathroom, a full kitchen and a furnished living suite with its own computer, we were pretty certain our neighbors couldn’t hear when baby got hungry several times throughout the night. Some units even have washer and dryers, which comes in handy when baby’s clothes need a quick wash. The hotel’s state-of-the-art fitness room is conveniently located on the seventh floor where we stayed, and guests and residents alike can get in a workout on a host of cardio machines and free weights.
After my morning run on the treadmill and a couple of dumbbell reps, I headed to the outdoor patio adjacent to the gym. There are patio tables and chairs around a communal barbeque, where a couple of Atlantans had cooked up a meal of chicken skewers the night before.
I sat by the rooftop pool, which offers comfy lounge chairs and gazed out on the amazing view of the Atlanta skyline.
It was then off to Thumbs Up Diner, my fave breakfast spot in Atlanta with a PR pal. Serving up hearty southern morning grub, be sure to try the egg and fried fish platter with a biscuit, but bring your Benjamins: this is strictly a cash-only spot.
With a leisurely day ahead of me, it made sense to spend the afternoon getting pampered, and there’s no better spot than The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead.
Buckhead Spa, nestled on the ninth floor and recently renovated, offers daily services using Kerstin Florian spa products exclusively. You can make a full day out it by enjoying amenities in the tranquility lounge, lounging in the whirlpool or taking a dip in the pool. Guest rooms on the floor continue the sense of peacefulness offering air purifiers and yoga mats in their rooms.
Totally relaxed and refreshed, it was time to head to The Lobby Lounge for tea service. Available Wednesday through Sunday at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m, there’s live piano music until 4:30 p.m.
I returned to Twelve. Hotel for a quick fashion change, and then it was then time to have some serious girl time with new pals: Love & Hip Hop Atlanta‘s Bambi, singer Nyla Vamp and stylist to the stars JoJo Zarur (pictured up top). We descended on BQE Restaurant & Lounge (shout out out to my NYC homestead!). We started the night with sparkling Moscato.
We then dug into some of the eatery’s most popular dishes.
Our swagger must have been in full drive because another round of cocktails were sent to our table, compliments of an admirer. It doesn’t get much hotter than that.
Make your trek to hot ATL soon!
