Hanging With Nikki Minaj at Hennessy Black
After a week of events and parties, Sports Gal expected to relax this past Sunday, kick back with cocktails and watch the All-Star game.
But alas, a DivaGal can never rest; thus this Diva found herself attending the Hennessy Black party hosted by Nikki Minaj.
The venue, Boulevard3, was beautiful with a VIP section upstairs, a main room downstairs and an enclosed courtyard with outdoor fireplaces. The night was cold for Los Angeles, but that didnΓÇÖt stop the ladies from dressing their best (and skimpiest!).
The DJ kept the dance floor full all night and the clubΓÇÖs dancers kept the excitement level high. In addition to the venue itself, there was a Hennessy Black lounge set up in the back next to the red carpet. The space had its own DJ, which made it a very cool place for sitting and talking while enjoying the specialty drinks made with Hennessy Black. Mine, infused with blackberry and cranberry, was delish.
By the time Nikki arrived, Sports Gal had downed two drinks and was thoroughly enjoying the evening and the atmosphere. Nikki was on grand Diva status all night. She didnΓÇÖt perform, but sat in VIP and interacted with her fans on the floor. DJ Khaled, the night’s surprise guest, performed and kept the crowd amped with his biggest hits and latest release. He also had his new artists on stage with him for a verse of two.
Hennessy Black is the first new product from Hennessy in a number of years. It has a slightly higher proof than VSOP Hennessey, and a much smoother taste. It achieves this smoothness because it is aged in used barrels. This process results in a smoother cognac because the wood has already had its flavors removed by the previous batch of cognac aged in it. Hennessy designed Hennessy Black for mixing and based on the drink I had, they succeeded admirably.
Hennessy Black sponsored All-Star parties the entire weekend with different hosts. Thursday was hosted by Chris Brown, Friday was Common and Saturday was Kobe Bryant‘s night. But I’m pretty sure the best evening was when I was in the house. Overall, it was a great night and a great end to a fabulous All-Star Weekend for this Diva!
