SPORTS GAL QUICK TAKE: Cleveland Cavaliers Picking A New Coach for Lebron?

By   |   June 10, 2010   |   Gals On The Town

lebron-jamesIt’s been reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers made an offer to Tom Izzo, coach of the Michigan State Spartans, to be their new coach. This move pretty much confirms for Sports Gal that the Cavs are directionless.

I’ve heard the word desperate used, but I wouldn’t go that far…yet.

Are the Cavs desperate to keep the best young player, current free agent Lebron James, in basketball? Of course they are! The problem for the Cavs is that they donΓÇÖt know if Lebron really wants to stay. (Look how hard New York City is working to get him to the Big Apple.)

The Cavs first fired the coach Lebron didnΓÇÖt like, Paul Silas. Then, they got him the help he needed in the form of Shaquille OΓÇÖNeal. Now theyΓÇÖve fired another coach he didnΓÇÖt like and dumped the GM, though they’ll deny it to the grave.

Before the Cavs hire a coach, they need a GM. Overall, the Cavs need to get a plan together that doesnΓÇÖt include catering to LebronΓÇÖs every whim.

idiot. at Lebron's age, all that work does is make him better and in better shape. and what team that has Lebron WOULDN'T play him 40+ minutes? you think if he leaves cleveland that some other team is gonna play him 25 minutes a night? get real. thats what the cavs pay him for. Exerting himself every night makes him a better player. all those minutes make his legs STRONGER. his speed and jumping will decrease later in his career because he will be older, which is natural. does Lebron look like the kind of athlete who gets tired?
