SportsGal: NFL Picks!

By   |   September 13, 2010   |   Gals On The Town

02alp_6888-nfl_medium_540_360ItΓÇÖs time for SportsGal to tell yaΓÇÖll who to put your money behind this season, LOL! So, here we go:

NFC East: Dallas Cowboys. And it really pains me to endorse the ΓÇÿBoys, but the Giants have too many questions for me to pick them. Washington is going nowhere (sorry, Donovan!). And the Eagles have to focus on their quarterback controversy. Yeah, I know youΓÇÖre saying ΓÇ£What quarterback controversy?ΓÇ¥ but just you wait.

NFC North: Green Bay Packers. DetroitΓÇÖs not even in the picture. IΓÇÖd like to pick Chicago but IΓÇÖm not a believer in the offense and I really canΓÇÖt see Minnesota having another dream season. If this sounds like process of elimination, it is.

NFC South: The sexy pick seems to be the Atlanta Falcons simply because the Saints had no injuries last year and how likely is that to happen again. SportsGal really had a hard time with this one but IΓÇÖm going with the Superbowl champs. If you donΓÇÖt want to walk with me on this one, I totally understand. As for Carolina and Tampa Bay, neither has enough to be a contender in the division.

NFC West: San Francisco 49ers. By default. And for anyone who wants to argue about the
Cardinals and their chances, first get a starting quarterback that you actually let start.

AFC West: San Diego Chargers. Again by default. ThereΓÇÖs something in the water on the Left Coast, I think.

AFC South: Indianapolis Colts. Come on, you didnΓÇÖt think I was picking against Peyton, did you? Although I will go on record as picking the Titans as a Wild Card team. I think Vince Young is finally ready for the spotlight.

AFC North: Cincinnati Bengals. This division has been a much discussed topic with SportsGal and her buds. Many think IΓÇÖm wrong and that Cincinnati canΓÇÖt repeat but if my choices are the Ravens or the Bengals (cause really where are the Steelers going this year), I pick Carson over Joe any day. Plus the Cincinnati offense has more weapons. I do think this division will be the closest and that the other AFC Wild Card will be whichever team doesnΓÇÖt win the division.

AFC East: J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS!!! IΓÇÖm proudly flaunting my bias here. DonΓÇÖt give
a damn about the other teams in the division! Bring them all on, ΓÇÿcause we got this!

I do know that I did not pick NFC Wild Card teams, but thatΓÇÖs because I think there are
more ΓÇ£betterΓÇ¥ teams in the NFC than in the AFC. Until we see how injuries shake out, itΓÇÖs
too soon for me to officially pick ΓÇÿem. I will narrow my choices to this: Giants, Vikings, Falcons. And if pressed, I will pick Giants and Falcons. IΓÇÖm just not a believer in Farve and without him, Minnesota is mediocre.

Until the next play!
