What To Wear This Summer In The Northeast, Southeast & West Coast!By Delaina Dixon | August 24, 2016 | Lifestyle
Hey DivaGals, TV DivaGal has been on the move! I’ve been traveling the country all summer long to see family and try some amazing new fitness for my column at our pal website ThirdAge.com. And I’ve worn some great outfits along the way!
In the past two months, I’ve traveled to several American regions, and looked to put together outfits that complement its fashion persona┬áand weather. Check out some of my fun combinations below. And feel free to share what you wear in your region!
In┬áWest Palm Beach, Fla., I┬ástayed at the fabulous Hilton West Palm Beach. The weather there is humid, so you want clothing that breathes. I got this fantastic versatile dress from a tie-dye vendor in Tennessee. It’s colorful, so really no other adornment needed, ┬ájust a simple dangling gold chain and my handy Telic sandals! Black Leather Purse: French Connection.
For a family visit to a national park on St. Simons Island, Ga., I slipped into this breezy linen shift from Old Navy (Yes, OLD NAVY!), and my handy Telics (they really do work on every terrain!). Who do you think has the biggest guns in this pic?
The West Coast
Santa Barbara is a gorgeous coast town! I slipped into this gorgeous H&M floral printed bikini and boy short set for lounging by the pool at The Fess Parker Hotel. Simply stunning views!
Back in New York City, the weather was reaching ridiculous 90-plus temperatures! That calls for light-colored, loose pieces! I’m so glad I’ve never tried to D.I.Y. this empire-waisted shift from Celebrity Pink (brand available at Amazon). It’s ivory hue was perfect for the Grease Live! event celebrating the musical explosion’s 10 Emmy nominations this year.
Luckily, it cooled down a bit, so I could pair these Molly Bracken shorts with a Forever 21 top and a stunning necklace made from recycled glass in Ghana, Africa. Perfect for a screening of the new BET series One Shot, airing on the network Tuesday nights.
This picture was shot on a rooftop in Los Angeles, but this outfit could have been worn in every region. I love the ease of a coordinated short set — this one is from Forever 21. You can mix and match the pieces, which I’ve done on numerous occasions. It’s also great to have a jacket just in case the night gets cool. Paired with a Molly Bracken jeweled top and┬ágorgeous python leather heels from Leon Max, it’s the perfect outfit for any terrain!
