Take A Trip To A New Hood With Maven (We Checked Out Williamsburg, N.Y.!)By Delaina Dixon | December 13, 2018 | Travel
Living in New York City, we get so caught up in our own neighborhoods — after all, everything we could possibly need is in a four-block radius — that we sometimes forget to check out other hoods just a few miles away. So when I was invited by social media star Micah Jesse to spend an afternoon in Williamsburg, N.Y., I jumped at the chance. But we wouldn’t be meeting at the subway station, we’d ride in style, thanks to Maven.
Maven is GM’s car sharing service that can be used for an hour, a day or a long-term rental. Cars are located at convenient spots throughout the city, and using one is all done through the Maven app where you find, unlock and start your reserved car. Maven offers upgraded amenities to plug into like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can access OnStar advisors 24/7, and connect on the go with 4G LTE WiFi.
After snaking through Manhattan traffic, we arrived at our first destination, North 3rd Street Market.
This retail hall is filled with delectable eateries and eclectic accessory stores like Flower Girl N.Y.C., who gifted us incredible winter bouquets.
We noshed on the best of the best pizza from Di Fara Pizza, munched on dumplings from East Wind Snack Shop…
…And chowed down on rainbow cookies from Dana’s Bakery
We then headed over to Bedford Cheese Shop for a mozzarella making class.
Yes, girl, all you need is curds, salt and hot water!
