Talya Bendel and Esty Haas debuted their premier collaboration, Talya Bendel – Haas Bridal, for CFDA’s New York Fashion Week Bridal shows.

Presented on the grand staircase at the iconic Woolworth Building in downtown New York City, Williamsburg natives know of Haas’s decades-long history of providing gowns for the local Hassidic community. We were excited to sit in the front row to see their elegant and classic styles make their grand debut.

The mostly modest collection is inspired by historical beauty and pulls Baroque aspects from design, architecture and grandeur. A deco undertone of sensational sharpness and angularity is present in most looks, which span decades and generations. Expressive themes and places are expressed in the design elements, including the Yew Tree Ball at Versailles, circa 1745, a 1920s Hamptons soiree and Teatro Di San Carlo in Italy in the 1800s for their opening night.

With antique qualities like Edwardian lace and subtle corsetry, each bride tells a different story. Always romantic, each look represents a woman who loves the exuberant and ornate.
