Like Coco Chanel, I love luxury. And luxury lies not in richness and ornateness but in the absence of vulgarity. My background is in TV (the newsy side), film production, PR and marketing. I love things that are well-made and carefully constructed. Very often, this equation equals expensive. You might pay a little more, but you get to love it that much longer. Remember the old saying buy it cheap, buy it twice? I am the self-professed info-nut on all the best things to do, visit, shop and eat, and where and how to live it up on the high end. But I can also tell you how to get the best deal on luxury offerings. And that is the best of both worlds. Tweet Maureen @RocktheLook.

Caroline Cao is our resident Geek Gal with an affinity for sci-fi, but she also slips into our Theatre Diva role to cover all things on stage. This introvert survives the hustle and bustle of New York City as a screenwriter, playwright, poet and film critic. Her memoir about her father's cancer and Buddhist faith is in progress. If you ask her "What her favorite genre is" she will reply, "Great movies/books/TV shows." Her witty and thoughtful musings have appeared in Birth Movies Death, Film School Rejects, The Mary Sue, Bitch, and Reverse Shot. In 2017, she produced her first short play Matriarch, Mother, and Maiden at New York City's Duke Theatre. Her screenplay projects include a semi-autographical Lady Bird-inspired coming-of-age tale, Reagan, and a pilot for a TV show called The Millennial Mortician. She shamelessly experiments with ramen noodles and writes long stretches of Star Wars fanfics. Follow her @maximinalist.
