Last night’s episode of The Bachelorette did give me a glimmer of hope that you can find love on a reality dating show.
Lightning recap: Jillian Harris took her final two suitors to meet her parents, claimed she was in love with both of them, had some serious make-out sessions and fretted over which one to chose in the end. She dumped Kiptyn (who I’m sure we will be announced as the new Bachelor on the After the Final Rose episode tonight), and got ready to say, “I do” to Ed.
But she first had to contend with Reid, who made a (not-so) surprise return and finally professed his love for Jillian at her final rose ceremony.
Not only did the realtor from Pennsylvania profess, Reid proposed, leaving Jillian a wretched mess over whether she should dump Ed and choose him.
See, this would have made for amazing reality TV. Bachelorette dumps both her final suitors and takes back number three! Classic!
Thank goodness, real feelings prevailed.
Jillian confessed to Reid that while they did share a special connection, her heart really belonged to Ed, and she sent Reid and his ring packing again.
(Reid should have known better. Ed and Jake already wore Jillian out with that “return to the Bachelorette” move.)
So it’s Ed and Jillian. Very cute couple. I’m hoping that this might actually lead to wedding number two for The Bachelor franchise. (God knows they need it!)
Don’t feel too sorry for Reid. I hear he was partying it up in Atlantic City a few weekends ago and seemed perfectly content with all the female attention he was getting!
Find out if Jillian and Ed are still a happy couple, or if she pulls a Jason Mesnick and dumps Ed to take Reid back on The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose, airing Tuesday, July 28 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
And check back here on Thursday after the TV Divagal talks with the happy couple!
