After seven seasons of watching The Chi, it’s about to enter its final chapter. Paramount+ has revealed the highly anticipated Season 8 trailer, setting the stage for the series’ conclusion starting May 22.
Last season left us with more questions than answers and enough drama to last a lifetime. Before the final 10 episodes drop on Paramount+, we’re looking back at the explosive Season 7 finale that changed the game forever.
THE FALL OF A MOGUL
The finale, titled “Rebirth,” was a total shocker. Alicia—the powerful matriarch played by the legendary Lynn Whitfield—was found dead, riddled with bullets. Her murder leaves a massive power vacuum in the city’s business and criminal underworld. The question of who is responsible will likely haunt the final season from the very first frame.
CAUGHT RED-HANDED?
Victor and Shaad are in major hot water. The season ended with them standing over Alicia’s body just as the police arrived. Caught with blood on their hands (literally), Victor’s hard-won redemption is now hanging by a thread. Can he beat the charges, or is his story ending behind bars?
A GHOST FROM THE PAST
In the twist of the century, Reg is back! Jake’s older brother, whom we all thought died back in Season 2, has returned to the South Side. His presence is bound to pull Jake back into the dangerous lifestyle he’s spent years trying to escape. Family loyalty is about to be tested like never before.
BUILDING A LEGACY
Amidst the chaos, Emmett and Kiesha are trying to build a stable life for their growing family, including their baby girl named after the late, great Jada. But with Nuck now leading the 63rd Street mob, and Tiff poised to take a larger role in Alicia’s empire, peace is a luxury few can afford.
