THE CW UPFRONT 2018 – The Network Gets “All American”
By Delaina Dixon | May 21, 2018 | EntertainmentI have a bit of sad news about The CW. The network will end three of TV DivaGal’s favorite shows in the 2018-19 season: Jane The Virgin; Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and iZombie.
Luckily it’s bringing some amazing new programming to the network – including All American! More on that in a minute.
The CW is giving the other networks a run for the advertising dollars as it adds Sunday nights expands to six days of original programming.
It’s celebrating the success of Black Lightning (j’adore!) which is “socially aware, topically relevant,” and not surprisingly, has one of the highest concentration of African-American viewers.
The CW loves its superheroes, so it’s also no surprise that Batwoman is coming to the network. And Supernatural is about to enter its 12+1 season (we’re taking no chances writing that OTHER number) and celebrate 300 episodes!
Now here are some of the new shows to watch on The CW!
Roswell New Mexico (midseason) This is another familiar title. In this reboot, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers her teenage crush is an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. The cast says this is a story for anyone who “feels alienated.” Latino actors Michael Trevino and SYTYCD winner Jeanine Mason star.
