Sure, Mischa Barton‘s latest TV project The Beautiful Life, crashed and burned faster than a model’s career over the age of 25.

Still, The O.C. alum plans to stay in the Big Apple, where the short-lived series was shot.

mbartonsony“I grew up in the city, so there’s a lot to love about it,” she spilled to the TV DivaGal and other reporters at the Sony “VAIO Experience,” a launch for three new VAIO products and Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system, inside of Guastavino’s on Midtown’s East Side Wednesday night.

“All my close friends are here. I feel it’s a fun city to lay low in and you get treated rightΓǪ There’s a really nice art scene and I just have more fun.”

Mischa, whose CW series was canceled after two airings, admits she’s back on the job search.

“There’s a bunch of projects I always wanted to make, so I’m going back to thinking about things again,” she revealed. “I just started looking at films.”

That may mean another collaboration with Ashton Kutcher, her former Beautiful Life boss.

“Ashton was great through the whole thing, from beginning to end,” she shared.
