The Future of Beauty & Wellness: Image Gal’s Favorite Discoveries at the Be+Well Expo
By Samantha Bessudo Drucker | March 12, 2026 | Beauty
Every year, the line between professional spa and the home bathroom becomes blurrier. If you have the money to invest, you can easily create a semi-professional spa in your personal vanity. This year’s Be+Well Expo at the Javits Center in New York was the perfect showcase of this trend.
This week, your Image Gal and fellow DivaGal, Maureen Tokeson, covered the expo, a yearly event dedicated to showcasing innovations at the intersection of beauty, health, and longevity. The expo brings together emerging brands, medical experts, and wellness entrepreneurs to highlight the next generation of products and technologies designed to help us look – and feel – our best.
Exhibits were divided into three main categories: hair, skincare, and makeup, and across all three areas, there was a noticeable theme of technology-driven wellness.
Many of the brands were incorporating infrared technology, cryotherapy, and hydrotherapy-based treatments into their products and services. From skincare devices to hair treatments and beauty innovations, these science-forward approaches were everywhere.
If this expo is any indication, the beauty industry is increasingly borrowing from the worlds of medicine, recovery science, and longevity research, and I’m excited to share some of my favorite discoveries…
The Collagen That Had Everyone Talking
One booth that drew plenty of attention featured Liquid BioCell, described as an “age-defying liquid collagen.”
The doctor presenting the product looked absolutely incredible—which, frankly, is always the most convincing form of marketing. In addition to promoting smoother skin and fewer wrinkles, the supplement is said to support joint health and mobility. As someone who stays active and appreciates anything that helps keep the body moving comfortably, I’m definitely planning to try it.
The Facial That Delivered an Instant Glow

One of my personal highlights was experiencing a JetPeel facial, a non-invasive treatment that uses pressurized oxygen and liquid micro-droplets to exfoliate the skin while simultaneously infusing it with nutrients and hydrating ingredients.
The results were immediate – my skin looked refreshed, hydrated, and noticeably brighter right after the treatment. But what impressed me even more is that I’m still experiencing the effects. Even the following day, my skin had that healthy, luminous glow that usually takes far more effort to achieve. It’s one of those treatments that feels both luxurious and effective, which is always a winning combination.
Cryotherapy for Hair? Yes, It’s a Thing
Another fascinating innovation I encountered was cryotherapy-based treatments for the hair.
The concept uses extremely cold temperatures to help seal the hair cuticle, lock in moisture, and potentially strengthen strands. While cryotherapy has long been used in athletic recovery and wellness therapies, it’s now making its way into the beauty space—another example of how scientific approaches to health are influencing haircare.

Light Therapy Is Everywhere
Another unmistakable trend at the expo was the rise of infrared and red light therapy.
These technologies are increasingly being used for skin rejuvenation, inflammation reduction, muscle recovery, and overall cellular health. From portable at-home devices to professional treatment systems, light-based therapies appeared across multiple booths. It’s clear that this category is rapidly becoming one of the most talked-about areas in modern wellness.
The Curious Rise of Brow Extensions
And of course, beauty trends always bring a few surprises. One of the more unexpected ones I spotted at the expo was the growing popularity of brow exte. nsions.
Similar to eyelash extensions, tiny fibers are attached to create fuller, more sculpted brows. For anyone looking to enhance their brow shape without permanent treatments, it’s an interesting new option that appears to be gaining traction.
A Glimpse Into the Future of Beauty
What struck me most about the Be+Well Expo was the overall philosophy behind the products on display. Beauty is no longer just about surface-level results – it’s increasingly about wellness, prevention, and longevity.
From infrared technologies to cryotherapy treatments and innovative supplements, the industry is clearly moving toward solutions that support both how we look and how we feel.
If the innovations showcased at the Javits Center are any indication, the future of beauty will be smarter, more personalized, and deeply connected to overall wellness—and that’s a trend I’m very happy to see.
