The Middle's Julie Brown: New Name and Hubby Scoop!

You remember Julie Brown, right? Fun, bubbly comedienne who sang “I’m a Blonde” and starred with Jeff Goldblum in Earth Girls Are Easy. Or maybe youΓÇÖre thinking of that sassy gal who hosted on MTV, Downtown Julie Brown. Yeah, Julie knows you get confused.

“In the beginning I was so mad that people mixed us up. I was writing, acting, singing and she was just hosting a show,” the comedienne tells TV DivaGal.

“Even my own dad would say, ‘You’re Downtown Julie Brown, right?'” she laughs. “I got a few checks for her. And I once ran into this producer who told me, ‘We thought hired you for this special for Earth Day, and the other Julie showed up.'”

The other Julie Brown has figured out to deal with it nowadays.

“I sort of got tired of it all, so when people ask if I’m her, I just say ‘Yes. I’m Downtown Julie Brown.”

Okay, so Julie’s not Downtown, but she’s definitely in The Middle. She’s back on the sitcom of the same tonight as kooky neighbor Paula Norwood.

Julie aslo gave a some casting scoop: We finally meet Paula’s husband! “He’s played by Patt Finn, who is really funny,” she says.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t get his Julies mixed up!

The Middle airs Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
