Kelly Ripa: Texting for a good cause!
Live! co-host and Electrolux brand ambassador Kelly Ripa schooled me on what she’s programming in her DVR this month.
“Cougar Town, definitely,” she shared.
“I also want to see that show FlashForward. I hear really good things about that. I’m just trying to picture the concept of everybody going unconscious for two minutes. Who’s mind does that come out of?”
That would be author Robert J. Sawyer, Kelly!
Kelly was in the heart of New York City’s Times Square to kick-off an Electrolux text-a-thon.
The mobile phone-based fundaiser will benefit Ovarian Cancer Research Fund during September, which is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
“It’s such a hard time to ask people for money in this economy, so we try to find low impact ways,” said Kelly of texting the word “KELLY” to 85944 from your cell.
“You send and it costs you $5 bucks. I think everyone can afford that,” she shared.
“And you’re automatically entered to win a front-loading washer and dryer.” Nice incentive!
