There was no shortage of TV series parties at Art Basel and Miami Art Week this past weekend. Several shows got in on the curated festivities with their own artistic fetes near the city’s sunny shores.
Riches at Art Basel
One of the biggest events was for the premiere of Riches, Prime Video‘s new soap about family power dynamics. Riches, which began streaming Friday, hosted a larger-than-life immersive art activation at Art Basel. “The Crown We Never Take Off” celebrated elements from the show that exhibit the freedom of expression and identity across the Black diasporic experience through several mediums including photography, sculpture, painting, music, video and performance art.

Curator Donnamarie Baptiste brought various art forms together from artists like Marryam Noma, Carlos Idun-Tawiah, Tammie Knight and Morel Doucet who, like the Richards family, push boundaries and excel despite the odds.
You People at Faena Hotel

Yung Miami hosted a special screening of the upcoming Kenya Barris film, You People, at the luxurious Faena Hotel Miami Beach. The screening, in partnership with REVOLT, included a private reception sponsored by Cîroc and DeLeón. Starring Eddie Murphy, Lauren London, Nia Long and more, it follows a new couple who deal with modern love, family dynamics and clashing cultures. The movie comes to Netflix later this month.
