Three Fantastic New Ways To Get Your Fitness On – Without A Gym Membership!
By Delaina Dixon | October 10, 2017 | FitnessHey Divas! We’ve discovered three hot new ways to knock out your workout, without a gym membership. Check ’em below!
GOLD’S GYM. We Divas travel a lot and sometimes we wish we could take a trainer with us. Well, now we can with Gold Gym’s digital trainer app Gold’s AMP. The gym has taken its top training coaches who actually put you through different audio workout routines right on your phone. That includes running, biking, bodyweight, and stretching classes – while you sweat it out to more than 1000-plus music mixes curated by top DJs. There are different levels of workouts, from low to high intensity, and each workout tells you what interval you’re in and allows you to change the music right in the middle of the workout if you like. And while we’d love to have hunky #WBWD┬áCoach Lee ramping up our┬áelliptical for his 24-minute stride and glide workout, having him in our ear is the next best thing! Gold’s AMP launches today!
POPiN. If you ever wished you could spend an hour at that ultra-luxe fitness facility, even though you’re not a member, POPiN is the app for you! Created by Dalton Han (pictured front, second from right),┬áPOPiN allows you to access premium fitness facilities and pay just for the time you’re there. Once the POPiN┬áapp is downloaded, and you check in your chosen facility in the POP!N mini-kiosk, the app tracks your time to charge you by the minute. Currently based in NYC, POPiN features one of our favorite fitness oasis in the Big Apple -┬áMercedes Club NY. ┬áA 60-minute visit can include your workout, a little steam and sauna and a smoothie at their new Playa Bowls Cafe & Juice bar, (which also serves sushi, wine & beer), for about $12 (and the price of that delicious smoothie!). Download POPiN at the┬áApple Store and take your workout to a fabulous new location.
CRUNCH. Crunch, an innovator in new fitness trends, has done it again with Sweatshed 2.0. This 50-minute HIIT class will put your body through all its paces, from cardio to sculpting to flexibility and using every type of mechanism available. In my class “BURN,” I worked my upper body, legs and core with dumbbells, kettlebells, ropes, boxes, TRX bands, medicine balls, hanging bars, the total gym and body weight in the specially designed Sweatshe arena, complete with electric blue lighting, pulsating music and dynamic trainer Colleen. This is small group training promoting team camaraderie – I was partnered up with another Sweatshed novice who named our team “Bold.” We encouraged each other on as we pulled, pushed and grunted our way to greatness. Two more types of classes (Ripped & Shed) are available, and get this – you don’t have to be a member to get your shed on – class packages are available to anyone who can get to their Crunch 59th St. Signature Club. But don’t worry – there are plans to take Sweatshed across the nation in the future.
