Three Reasons You're Gonna Wanna Watch America's Next Top ModelBy Delaina Dixon | September 1, 2010 | Entertainment
Only seven more days before TV DivaGal is back on the catwalk ΓÇô figuratively speaking ΓÇô to watch 14 hopefuls try to make it in the high fashion world of modeling on my fave, America’s Next Top Model.
You know that Miss Tyra‘s upped the stakes with a spread for the winner in Italian Vogue. Now here’s three more reasons why you should be setting your DVR to ANTM‘s season premiere next week right now!
The models are pretty model-y. With not one, but a two spreads in Italian Vogue on the line, the contestants pretty much look like real models this season. Tyra aptly breaks down the girls into the categories the modeling industry will most likely put them in: the blondes, the quirky girls, the strong bone structure gals. Of course, there’s always a few who break the mold: one of the contestant’s is 6’2 and another sports a 30G chest on her slim frame, but as Tyra points out it’s the girl who doesn’t fit the standard that can become the modeling world’s next sensation.
There’s dram-ah! There’s always tension in the model house, but this particular fight starts even before the girls even make it to their new Los Angeles digs. Yep, hard to believe that some people in America still feel this way, but it’s interesting to see how she reacts when called on it. Lesson to be learned? Never write nasty things in your diary about other people and then leave it laying out in the open.
Andre Leon Talley is back. I admit, I wasn’t one of the people on board with his brand of commentary or his”dreckitude” catch phrase. But everyone deserves a second chance. It seems like Vogue‘s editor-at-large took notes on his performance last season, and is truly making an effort to make his comments and criticisms actually make sense.
America’s Next Top Model, cycle 15, premieres Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
