Samantha von Sperling shares the finale of her 90 days to an Improved You!

What started out as a New Year’s resolution has taken on a life of its own. It’s brought me on a journey that has taken me into spring cleaning and a season of introspection and renewal before entering a full bloom ready for market. This has been an important year for all kinds of new beginnings. IΓÇÖve learned to pay attention to the things that trigger my worst self. Change is a constant conscious effort to make all the right choices, every day. I am appreciative that I decided to to do this crazy series of articles where I become my own best client and start this new chapter in my life on a self-monitored yet highly public transformation to an updated, improved best version of myself.

I have to say it’s been both motivational and, at times, exhausting. Once you identify one area and clean it up and make it fresh and sparkling, you realize how shabby everything else looks in comparison. Before you know it, you’re turning your guts inside out to go the whole way and turn it all out afresh. It’s a chance to dig deep, do the work to clear out all the sludge, emotional included. Sometimes it’s painful. The clearer I get, the more impatient I become, the more uncomfortable it is to bear witness to anything that is not as it could be and is within my power to change. The clutter that one uncovers while cleaning oneΓÇÖs space or professional life is nothing compared to the┬áclearing of one’s mind.

Sometimes life can come at us with such intensity that it is necessary to step back and go within. We can protect ourselves by stepping out of sight so we can focus and produce, especially when stakes are high. Disappearing for a moment can take some of that pressure off and insulate us a bit. Then we are free to expend great amounts of energy getting things done and setting things straight. One of the best gifts we can give ourselves is the space to rest from the exertion so we can renew our strength and keep going.

Gigantic steps forward in every aspect of my life have been accomplished.

Did I mention I’m an impatient person? I like to see results, and itΓÇÖs never fast enough which results in my feeling slightly frustrated. I am my own worst critic and demand a lot from myself as I turn my trained eye to client no. 1.

Just like all of us, I have my challenges. Life throws us all curveballs. Never give up.

Just do your best. My best on one day might not be the same as my best on another but it is my best at that moment. That’s all we can do, make a constant conscious effort to do our best all the time. An impossible task, but when you start thinking and acting this way as much as possible it will bring you to new levels and new realizations. Including the difficult feat of learning to love ourselves when we fall short of our ideal. Is it any surprise that karmically as an image consultant, this is my greatest challenge of all? I have always been a competitive, results-driven person, but as my plan emerged in greater detail, a sense of reassurance emerged.

Anything is possible.

It’s been such an intense experience so far but I’m so glad I did it and plan to continue pushing self in my quest for excellence in all aspects of life.
