Get ready for another amazing adventure in our “We Love NY” series as we spend a day in Niagara Falls, N.Y.!

Located on the Niagara River, there are plenty of attractions and experiences that make this city a must-see destination, from the breathtaking views of the falls to the history of one of the most sophisticated underground railroad operations in the country. There’s also great food…with a cause!

Whether you’re seeking natural beauty, historical significance or culinary delights, visiting Niagara Falls offers an unforgettable experience. Here are just a few places to get you started as you plan your trip to Niagara Falls!

Start with a tour at the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center (825 Depot Ave. West) and learn about Cataract House, a bed and breakfast where its all-Black staff helped run one of the most sophisticated underground railroad operations for freedom seekers.

Dig into powdered goodness with D Scott, owner of Black House Beignet (616 Niagara St.) and enjoy a cup of chicory coffee on the side.

Chicken? Carnitas? Ribs? You can enjoy all three with Chef Bobby Anderson! The Hell’s Kitchen alum runs FBites, a non-profit organization that uses hands-on culinary instruction to empower underprivileged youths and chronically unemployed adults to instill leadership and communication skills in its three food establishments: Cantina, Cataract House Restaurant & Academy and Sunshine BBQ Truck—all conveniently located on Old Falls St.

No trip would be complete without seeing the falls! Take a walking tour through Cave of the Winds or book yourself on Maid of the Mist (Niagara Falls State Park) to experience it up close and personal—and be prepared to get wet!
