Travel Tips For Flying: How to Get A Date!

ABC premieres its new series Pan Am Sunday night, about the adventurous lives of flight attendants in the sixties, including their dating habits. The DivaGals called up real-life flight attendant, The Sky Steward Gailen David, who has flown the friendly skies as a flight attendant for over 23 years, and got some helpful hints on some travel tips for flying: how to make a love connection 25,000 ft. in the air.

Air travel is one of the best ways to meet people these days, but you’ve got to be smart in order to put yourself in the right place at the right time. Here are a few tips to get your love-life from point A to point B all while making travel infinitely more fun.

Get To The Airport Early

Arriving at the airport just 10 minutes before your scheduled flight time will not only cause you to miss your plane, but you’ll nix any chance of making an airport love connection. Build in some extra time at the airport to see and be seen. It’s called a runway for a reason, and you should take your time as you sashay your way to your flight with strategic stops in-between.

Land In the Right Place

The airport is packed with interesting and successful individuals who’d love to meet you, but you’ve got to filter out those who are not worth your time. The best way to do this is to choose the right spot to spend your extra terminal time. The airline clubs are great places to get comfortable, get some work done and to increase your chances of chatting with someone you may find attractive. Day passes make it possible to use the airline club even if you do not have an annual membership, and includes complimentary cocktails! Position yourself in a cozy area of the lounge close enough to the bar that you are near the action.

Give Fate a “Flighting” Chance

One way to increase your chances of meeting someone on your flight is to arrive at the gate before boarding begins. Scope out the people you’ll be flying with and allow them to scope you out at well. You just may spot someone you had a “moment” with previously in the terminal or airline lounge.
