TV DIVAGAL at TV Summer Press Tour: Day 1 with Newlywed Nick Lachey!
By Delaina Dixon | August 2, 2011 | EntertainmentTV DivaGal is in sunny L.A. for television’s Summer Press Tour 2011! Tune in daily for my TCA Diary!
Who has time for jet lag? I’m off the planeΓǪ and hitting the NBC panels and All-Star Party to get marriage scoop from Nick Lachey, hair advice from Eva Marcille and the only shoe acceptable to wear to a job interview with Michael Patrick King from comedienne Whitney Cummings!
After watching a live performance from The Sing-Off season two winners Committed, I catch up with two-week-old newlywed Nick Lachey, who reveals how he felt when his beautiful bride Vanessa Minnillo made her way down the aisle during their U.S. Virgin Islands ceremony. “It’s a breath-taking moment. In your mind, you envision what she’ll look like,” he tells TV DivaGal. “I hadn’t seen the dress, and I hadn’t seen her in the dress, so when it finally happened, she looked gorgeous. She just took my breath away. ” Awwww! And yes, Nick is ready for babies. ” I’m 38 this year, so I’m ready, it’s time.”
At the Whitney panel, star Whitney Cummings cops up to something we’ve all done for an important interview, especially if you’re meeting with Sex and the City writer Michael Patrick King! (The two are collaborating on the upcoming CBS series Two Broke Girls.) “It’s always very embarrassing to meet with Michael Patrick King as a woman because you make an idiot of yourself. I went and I bought Christian Louboutin pumps, which I was planning on returning the next day after I met him, but I sweated in them so much, I had to keep them.” Whitney, we think it was a totally worthy investment.
At the NBC All-Star party, I chat with The Office‘s Craig Robinson, who’s stoked to have James Spader join the cast as the new boss. “He’s brought a new energy to the set,” Craig shares over chicken croquettes. Then it was time to talk hair with ANTM alum and Oxygen’s Hair Battle Spectacular host Eva Marcille. “Keep it short,” she suggests to me. And keep it hydrated. “I love Luster’s Pink Oil Moisturizer Hair Lotion,” she declares. DivaGals love it too: cheap and gets the job done!
I can’t resist ending the night by snapping a pic with Community‘s Danny Pudi — my boyfriend turned me on to this little series that could. So this pics for you!
Tune in tomorrow for a recap of Day 2!
