Bachelor’s Brad and Emily: Doomed From the Start?
Update: Here’s Brad and Emily’s official statement over their decision not to do any more press about their relationship:
“At long last, Emily and I can be open to the world and each other about our relationship. Though we are madly in love, it has been a bumpy couple of months for us and our priority right now is to focus on our relationship. We hope that you can respect our privacy as we return to normalcy and begin our off-screen lives together.ΓÇ¥
Bachelor fans around the globe got their wish last night when second time around Bachelor, Brad Womack, picked Emily Maynard as the “once in a lifetime love” over Chantal O’Brien. Or so we thought.
While the Bachelor finale was kinda boring, the After the Rose ceremony was majorly intense. In a strange twist of events, it seems Emily is just not that into Brad.
While Brad is ready to get married yesterday, Emily is having cold feet, blaming her inertia on watching Brad be with other women on the show (she does realize they fell in love on The Bachelor, right?) and her desire to date Brad like a regular person before she packs up her and her daughter’s bags and move to Austin. Hmmm, I don’t think that’s ever going to happen.
It’s kind of sad irony because Brad does truly seem like he’s in love. He’s channeling his Brad Pitt moment and ready to be an instant dad. But it seems like Emily is finally showing her age (she’s just 24!) as she can’t grasp the concept so eloquently put by former Bachelorette star Ryan Sutter, it’s not about falling in love on the show, it’s what you do after the program ends that count.
I wish Brad and Emily the best… I just hope it’s not a wish in vain.
