TV DIVAGAL EXCLUSIVE: Dennis Haysbert and The Unit Movie: It'll Be A Globe-Trotting Tale
By Delaina Dixon | June 18, 2010 | EntertainmentTV DivaGal knows The Unit fans can’t get enough Dennis Haysbert updates on bringing the cancelled TV series to the big screen.
That’s why I caught up with Dennis, who makes his New York City Broadway debut Monday night in his former Unit boss David Mamet‘s new drama Race, to get the deets. Looks like I’m not the only one inquiring!
“I get that all the time,” Dennis said to me about people wanting to know when the movie will come to light.
“We’re still working on it, trying to work on the rights of it and trying to get it done, get some financing.”
One thing Dennis is certain of: the script is going to be a worldly feat.
“You’ve got to globe trot,” he declares. “These guys are Bonds, Bonds in fatigues.”
Of course, with The Unit co-executive producer, Command Sergeant Major (retired) Eric L. Haney on board, the show will maintain its level of accuracy. “What people may or may not know is that it was the number one show in the military,” Dennis shared. “We got to show something about the families, about what these men do. No one has an idea of what they do and they were very grateful for that. It let the world know to a certain extent what the families have to go through. “
And we’re definitely ready for the next chapter.

but would go see a "The Unit" movie multiple times
at least 3 or even more
to support such a quality work
The Unit was the best show ever/ heck work of any kind
it was great (my second favorite TV show was 24, followed by Friday Night Lights - which I also think is being cancelled & Star Trek -DS9)
why it didnt run for at least 10 years
even being picked up by say HBO, which I am thinking of cancelling
after being madder now that I watch reruns of the Unit
and still cant believe it was cancelled
I always thought heck, another network, HBO, Spike, 9, CW, NBC, Fox
has to buy the rights of this show - the Best EVER HANDS DOWN
and it should have a run of at least another 6 - 11 years.
Maybe if
