TV DIVAGAL EXCLUSIVE: The Riches Movie: Gone For Good?
By Delaina Dixon | June 25, 2010 | EntertainmentSorry The Riches fans, but this news is gonna kind of suck.
Eddie Izzard, who starred in the trailblazing FX series that followed a band of gypsies who assumed a family’s identity, was hoping to get a movie off the ground once the show got canceled after two seasons in 2008.
But Eddie, who’s currently starring on Broadway in David Mamet‘s drama Race, says we’ll just have to hold on a little longer to find out what happens to the Malloy clan.
“There are so many hoops and hurdles it might be stuck in a place at the moment,” he confesses.
“I don’t think it will come back with a big gap, but money got so tight in this economy with the crash, it was the hardest time in the world to get an independent film going.”
Still Eddie is optimistic that The Riches will have its spot on easy street again someday.
“It’s something that could come back in the future.”
Let’s make that a sooner windfall than later, Eddie!
