TV DIVAGAL: Remembering Paul Walker – A Personal Account
By Delaina Dixon | December 1, 2013 | Entertainment
I learned of Paul Walker‘s death late last night. The actor, best know for his work in The Fast and The Furious franchise, was killed in a car accident while on a way to a charity event he was hosting. The news was of course, sad, but even more so since I had had the┬áprivilege of meeting him.
Paul starred in the 2001 film Joyride, and I was part of an interview panel that spoke with the handsome star. While I don’t recall much about what he said about the movie, I do remember Paul being charming and gracious, and of course, easy on the eyes.
Our interview took place just a week after 9-11; Paul was born on Sept. 12. At the end of the interview, I approached him and gave him a birthday card, stating that he probably didn’t get to celebrate much the day after the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. His sincere words of thanks during our brief interaction have always left a lasting impression. Paul, you will be missed.
