Leverage fans ΓÇô the wait is over! The show about a band of bandits doing good is back this Sunday.
With several family members who are obsessed with the show, I had to chat with its main man, Timothy Hutton, and get the scoop on what’s going to be happening in season 4. Check it out below!
What’s the biggest change we can expect this season?
The Leverage is team is being followed by a group of people, and Leon Rippy (Leverage‘s new villain) is a part of that… The team is pursued and hunted by people who want them to stop what they’re doing, or to continue it if it benefits them. So we have to go underground, and never want to be together at the same time in the same place.
How will Nate deal with his drinking problem this time around — has he cleaned up his act?
Nate definitely has had to deal with being a little bit in denial. This year, he’s starting to realize how it’s affecting things around him, and he has to come to terms with it and deal with it moment to moment. You’re not going to see a drunken Nate stumbling around all morose about the bad things that have happened in his life. HeΓÇÖs a more positive forward thinking Nate, which I think, is part of his recovery.
Can you spill on any cool upcoming episodes?
There’s one (the fifth episode of the season) that guest stars Danny Glover. it’s about a lost piece of artwork from Vincent van Gogh, and only Danny knows where it might be. We need to get him to tell us where he was during World War II when he came across this van Gogh. Our cast plays the characters in the story he’s discussing and that leads us to clues to where this painting may be. There’s one episode that centers around a potato ΓÇô a potato that changes the world, so the con is a high-tech agricultural security-building hunt.
What has been one of your favorite jobs over the years?
I really enjoyed the season finale in our first year, our first David job, and pretty much any episodes where Nate gets to play a role in the con.
Is there any chance that some of the people who the team has helped will be revisited just to see if they did the right thing with the payout they received?
We’ll actually be revisiting some of the bad guys who have decided to get together and form their own super team because they feel they have been really wronged by the Leverage team. (Think Sal Rubinek, Richard Kind and Griffin DuneΓǪ)
Who is the most stable of the Leverage team?
Probably Parker. I think that Nate has been observing a lot this season. He is quietly assessing all the team members, from episode to episode. He wants to see the various tools they use and in watching Parker, she’s learned the most at this stage. He might be completely wrong, but at this particular point Parker would be the most stable, unstable person he knows.
The con is back on: Leverage season 4 premieres Sunday, June 26 at 9 p.m. on TNT.
