Living in New York City, you would think that this TV DivaGal would be scared silly to watch Law & Order: SVU every week. But I admit I’m hooked.
Obviously, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps is too. The Real Housewives of New York City star stars in tonight’s episode!
“I play Cindi, an art collector who’s got a thing for an artist who’s suspected of murder,” LuAnn reveals. “He paints a semi-nude of me. You only see my back, so it’s done very tastefully. But still, to remember my lines and keep that sheet in place was challenging.”
Aside from a short stint on The Bold and the Beautiful, this is LuAnn’s first dramatic role. “The director wanted something very specific. She told me, ‘Don’t act,’ just to say the lines the way you would say it.”
Like TV DivaGal, Luann is an avid SVU watcher. “I’m fan of Mariska Hargitay. I met her at a Jason Binn party for Hamptons magazine,” LuAnn says. “She’s the nicest person. So it was really fun, but nerve-wracking as well to work with such great actors who have been doing it for so long.”
Like resident SVU hottie Chris Meloni, who plays Detective Stabler?
“This guy is unbelievably buff, LuAnn says with a laugh. “He’s in good shape, and he’s handsome and charming.” Thank goodness!
While LuAnn’s SVU character may be na├»ve enough to get caught up with a would-be murderer, LuAnn follows some simple street smart rules when dealing with the streets of NYC.
“Not walking after a certain time of night alone, being aware and having a big, handsome French boyfriend is good,” giggles LuAnn, who’s been dating wine importer Jacques Azoulay for the past year. Here’s the Countess’ advice on being a lady in a new a relationship.
“To keep it fresh, keep an element of mystery,” she suggests.
