TV DIVAGAL: The Carrie Diaries’ Stefania Owen Talks Dorrit’s First Love!By Delaina Dixon | March 18, 2013 | Entertainment
It’s called The Carrie Diaries, but tonight’s episode belongs to little sister Dorrit!
It’s Carrie’s 17th birthday and Dorrit is out to find the perfect gift for big sis, which leads her on her own adventure.
TV DivaGal caught up with 15-year-old Stefania Owen who plays Dorrit, to get a little preview of what will happen tonight.
We also got the skinny on the style similarities between Dorrit’s and Stefania’s wardrobes, and what happened to Dorrit when she grew up!
In tonight’s episode, Dorrit tries to buy the perfect birthday gift for her older sister Carrie, but things go awry?
I can’t give away too much, but it’s not only a special day for Carrie. It’s a special time for Dorrit ΓÇô there’s going to be special times for everyone.
Is Dorrit going to have a crush and get a boyfriend?
As I said, this episode is very special for Dorrit. So yeah, you’ll see that. It’s just a new time for Dorrit. You see her in a different environment and what’s she’s like with other people, so yes, it’s a very exciting episode.
It’s been said that Carrie is their dad Tom’s favorite. Will Dorrit and her father’s relationship keep building over time?
It’s always up and down with the relationship they have. But for Tom, he’s kind of discovering himself; he’s starting to date again and have his own life. His attention isn’t toward Carrie and Dorrit as much as the episodes go on. Dorrit realizes that does like his attention, and when she doesn’t get it, she acts differently.
Do you and Dorrit have a similar sense of style?
We have a similar wardrobe. We both love our Dr. Martens and leather jackets. Sometimes when I come to set, people don’t know if I’m in wardrobe or my real outfits.
Where are some of your favorite places to shop?
I love to shop in SoHo because there are so many different boutiques there. It’s not so overwhelming as some of those bigger stores. I have everything in front of me and I find little things in little places. I like Free People clothing, and I like to change it up a bit.
What was the last great piece you found at a boutique?
I found these really great leg warmers, and I wear them all the time. I love to accessorize and add legwarmers or socks to make my outfit more funky. I actually learned that from Eric Daman, who does our wardrobe. A lot of layers can add style.
Do you have any spring break or summer plans planned?
I live in New Zealand, and we’re going into winter soon, so I’ll actually be in school while everyone here in the states is on holiday and enjoying their summer. I’ll be in New Zealand with my family and friends and my three dogs and three cats. So it will be fun.
What’s one place we should visit in New Zealand?
I love to visit Kaikoura, it’s in the South Island. It’s beautiful and amazing.
We know what happened to Carrie Bradshaw as an adult. Any thought on what Dorrit is like as a grown-up?
I asked [Carrie Diaries creator] Candace Bushnell, and she said that Dorrit would have gone off in some sort of cult and done her own thing!
The Carrie Diaries airs Monday, March 18 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
