ΓÇó Another Idol alum goes Broadway! American Idol winner Jordin Sparks has joined the cast of the Tony award-winning musical In the Heights. She starts August 19.

ΓÇó Kind of loving this! Ugly Betty alum Michael Urie won Outstanding Lead Actor at the 2010 Lortel Awards last night, which recognizes the best in Off-Broadway. Michael currently stars in The Temperamentals and told us at the awards that he’s really enjoying his time on stage.

ΓÇó TV DivaGal loves a good Lifetime thriller! That’s why I can’t wait to see their latest, Perfect Teacher, about a student obsessed with hers. The Secret Life of the American Teenager‘s Megan Park has been cast as set student, and Melrose Place‘s David Charvet will play the object of her (deadly?) obsession, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Look for the film later this year.

ΓÇó Sad news. Helen Wagner, who was a staple on the long running daytime series As the World Turns where she played iconic matriarch Nancy Hughes for 54 years, has died at the age of 91. We send our condolences to her family.
