ΓÇó The Beast‘s Patrick Swayze lost his battle with cancer on Monday. He was 57-years-old. “We are saddened by the loss of one of our generation’s greatest talents and a member of the A&E family,” reads an official statement from the network where Patrick did his last project. “Patrick’s work on The Beast was an inspiration to us all. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his wife Lisa and his entire family during this difficult time.”

ΓÇó Show You Gotta Watch Tonight: The Biggest Loser. It’s back (with Dan!), and trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper are working in tandem to train the contestants. I’m tired just writing that. Catch it tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC.

ΓÇó Helen Hunt could take over Maura Tierney‘s role in the TV series version of Parenthood. Guess NBC is mad about Helen! (THR)

ΓÇó Courtney Thorne-Smith is going back to college. She stars as mom who’s determined to make her daughter her sorority legacy in the new Lifetime movie, Sorority Wars, premiering on the network Oct. 17.

ΓÇó VH1 Divas Live is making a BIG announcement this morning on the Today Show at 10 a.m. on NBC. We’ll watch (so you don’t have to!) and update with the news ASAP! UPDATE: It’s your VH1 Diva pairings! Kelly Clarkson will sing with Melissa Etheridge, Jordin Sparks with Martina McBride, Leona Lewis with Cyndi Lauper, Miley Cyrus with Sheryl Crow and Jennifer Hudson with Stevie Wonder. How did he become a Diva?

I was saddened when I heard the news today about Patrick Swayze to a point of tears coming down my face. What an amazing person to battle his disease so bravely & he took each day with a smile no matter how bad he felt. I have a special place in my heart for him & his family is in my prayers. Where is his "big" funeral & service? Here is a man who continued to fight every day & died peacefully with his family around while "others" get these big services. Rest in peace Patrick & it IS amazing, "the love that you take with you"....Now you will never be in a corner again!!
