TV DIVGAL: The Wrong Mans’ Matthew Baynton: Celeb Crushes and Not Answering the Phone!

TV DivaGal attended the NYTV Festival’s premiere screening of Hulu’s The Wrong Mans this past weekend, where I met its ever-so-charming co-star Matthew Baynton (pictured left).
Matthew appeared on British version of Gavin & Stacy, so I asked him to reveal American celebrity crush. Just don’t tell his girlfriend!
“As far as she knows, I don’t find any other woman in the world attractive. But I have a soft spot for Rashida Jones,” Matthew declared to me on the red carpet. “She is a beautiful lady — very funny and talented.”
Sounds a creative collaboration in the making? “Oh yeah, I’m sure my girlfriend would love that,” Matthew joked.
One thing his girlfriend will love is this hilarious new six-part series, premiering on Hulu next month. Matthew stars as Sam, an everyday Joe who gets caught up in a kidnapping after answering a phone he finds on the side of the road. It’s made Matthew a little weary of answering his own mobile (as the Brits like to call it!).
“I’m so much more careful,” he confessed to me. “The truth is I ignore any calls that come from unknown numbers. I just assume it’s going to be someone cold calling me about insurance. So far it’s never been a kidnapping. ”
Maybe next time Rashida will be on the line!
