TV Upfronts 2015 : What WeΓÇÖll Be Watching This Season on The CW!By Maureen Martin | May 19, 2015 | Entertainment
The CW is having a banner year: ratings are up, especially with the guys. This has a lot to do with breakout shows like Jane The Virgin and The Flash. Jane brought critical praise, awards and the Latino audience. The Flash, based on DC comics has brought in comic lovers, and the return of one of our TV faves, Wentworth Miller. That may be why The CW only has one new series on its fall schedule, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a musical comedy! More on that later.
The big-ticket new midseason drama, is the super-hero team drama DCΓÇÖs Legends of Tomorrow. ItΓÇÖs a full of special effects and familiar faces (like Wentworth!).
We’ll also get Containment (pictured up top), based on the Belgian series Cordon. It’s an apocalyptic, medical drama involving a mysterious Ebola like epidemic that breaks out in Atlanta, leading to quarantine, marshal law, and 100 percent certainty of fatality. This series is led by British hottie David Gyasi, who is a perfect blend of┬á Idris Elba and Denzel Washington.
Now back to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The show chronicles the adventures of an unhappy lawyer who quits her job and moves across the country because she thinks her former boyfriend maybe “into her again.” We can’t keep our eyes off Vincent Rodriguez III who plays Josh, her hottie Latino ex. While TV DivaGal will be thrilled it’s a musical, I’m hoping it’s a little less musical and more comedy. You be the judge… watch the trailer below!
