TV SHOW TO WATCH This Fall: Charlie’s Angels & Whitney
By Delaina Dixon | September 21, 2011 | EntertainmentTonight the TV Show to Watch tonight is all about girl power ΓÇô and amazing hair!
Charlie’s Angels. Growing up, I wanted to be an angel (Sabrina to be exact!). Who would have thought that 30 years later, the Angels would be back, and we’ve got one, Annie Ilonzeh, who’s representing for chocolate-hued crime-fighters out there! These new breed of Angels are gals gone wrong, and have a chance to turn their lives right under the guidance of “Charlie.” My verdict is still out on this one. Charlie’s Angels worked in the seventies because we had never seen beautiful women ready to kick some major butt. And there’s just no way these angels can have a wardrobe that rivals Jaclyn Smith’s circa ’76. But Hawaii Five-O made its millennium debut and is doing just fine, so anything is possible. We’re definitely watching for Annie’s incredible hair! Charlie’s Angels premieres at 8 p.m on ABC.
Whitney. TV DivaGal admits it. I kinda fell into a girl crush with comic writer Whitney Cummings when she admitted she had bought ΓÇô and planned to return — Christian Louboutins for her meeting with SATC scribe Michael Patrick King on the creation of 2 Broke Girls (which wasn’t half bad Monday night). On her new series, Whitney, she plays well, Whitney, a gal devoted to her relationship ΓÇô as long as the words “I do” are never uttered. Whitney has her own brand of survival in a relationship ΓÇô many of which have been written on billboards all over New York City. For example: “Half of All Marriages End ΓǪ In Sweatpants.” Funny stuff. My only fear is that the jokes that play on phone booths fall flat when delivered on the small screen. Still, it’s worth tuning into Whitney at least once, if only to stare at her perfectly manicured hair. Whitney premieres at 9:30 p.m. on NBC.
