TV UPFRONTS 2012: ABC’s Fall TV Shows to Watch!By Maureen Martin | May 16, 2012 | Entertainment, Food Fashion Style
Thank you ABC for presenting us with a nice dose of diversity. Each show this season has at least two cast members that are “people of color.” So nice when art imitates life. Here are the ones you won’t want to miss.
WHAT IT’S ABOUT. Duh — Women sleeping with other women’s husbands!
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. It’s a sexy soapy drama based on a British drama of the same name with Alyssa Milano, Rochelle Aytes, Yunjin Kim and Jes Macallan. We love the diverse casting, and this is the ONLY way to get busy outside of your own relationship.
How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)
WHAT IT’S ABOUT. Picking up on the recession and the trend of adult children moving back home to their baby boomer parents, Scrubs alum Sarah Chalke stars as Polly, a recently divorced single mom who moves in with hers.
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. As the antidote for you not moving back home!
666 Park Avenue
WHAT’S IT ABOUT? What do you get when you mix gossip, fashion, and a dose of paranormal activity? We’ll find out when Vanessa Williams moves from sunny Wisteria Lane to Moody Manhattan’s posh 666 Park Avenue loosely based on the book of the same name.
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. It’s going be good TV with Vanessa and Lost‘s Terry O’Quinn headlining this cast. And where Vanessa Williams goes, we follow …
WHAT’S IT ABOUT. Pays homage to Men in Black, Mork and Mindy and John Lithgow‘s 3rd Rock From The Sun as a family moves into a posh gated community in New Jersey and learns the entire neighborhood consists of aliens disguised as humans.
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. What’s funnier than aliens pretending to be humans? Not much.
The Family Tools
WHAT IT’S ABOUT. Based on a British series, it’s a comedy about a man (Kyle Bornheimer) who gives up his career to return home to his dad’s family-owned, blue collar “handyman business.”
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. Leah Remini is back where she belongs and doing what she does best — acting in a comedy. Plus, it has J.K. Simmons and lots of physical gags.
WHAT IT’S ABOUT. New war drama about the crew of a U.S. nuclear submarine that ignores an order to fire nuclear missiles and ends up as a rogue crew that is hunted. They settle in a NATO outpost and declare themselves to be the world’s smallest nuclear nation.
WHY YOU’LL WATCH. The cast is led by the ever-talented Andre Braugher and includes Felicity alum pretty boy Scott Speedman. You know your man will watch this one, so strap in and enjoy for yourself.
