The beautiful people reside at The CW as we’re greeted by model hosts at the network’s Upfront at New York City Center. And that continues on screen ΓÇô in a rainbow of hues this season. Here’s what you gotta watch.
Jane the Virgin (Mondays, 9 p.m.)
WHAT ITΓÇÖS ABOUT. Jane is the perfect granddaughter who has saved herself for marriage, only to get accidentally artificially inseminated, and learns she’s pregnant. Holy immaculate conception!
OUR DIVALICIOUS TAKE. Based on a┬átelenovela, the series pays homage to its root by featuring a trio of Latina actresses in the lead role. We’re pretty certain this comedic take of morality and culture will easily grow on us, and could be The CW’s own Ugly Betty.
The Flash (Tuesdays, 8 p.m.)
WHAT ITΓÇÖS ABOUT. After a freak accident, a 20-something gets super speed powers that helps him save lives.
OUR DIVALICIOUS TAKE. We know what you’re thinking: a superhero series? But there’s something endearing about Barry Allen who has been trying to avenge his mother’s death since he was a boy. Now he’s saving the world, and looks like he may be finding romance with the beautiful Iris West, played by Candice Patton. Jesse L. Martin also stars.
