TV's Newest Mean Girl Learned Everything in High SchoolBy Delaina Dixon | July 27, 2009 | Entertainment
Reese Witherspoon is keeping her Legally Blonde franchise alive and kicking as producer of an upcoming TV movie.
“She’s the reigning queen bee of Pacific Preparatory High School,” says Tiffany’s portrayer Brittany Curran.
“She’s rich, powerful and manipulative, but she needs all the popularity, clothes and money because she is so insecure.”
Tiffany takes an instant dislike to the double dose of British blonde bubbliness.
“I try destroying them, splitting them up, befriending them and humiliating them,” Brittany explains. “I see them as a threat.”
Brittany won the role after Reese personally signed off on her audition tape.
“It was a total cold read and I did it different from everyone else,” Brittany says. “Everyone else was outwardly mean. I said mean lines in a nice way. The producers were like, ‘Did she just insult us?'”
Where did Brittany learn to play such a bi-atch? In high school, of course!
“I went back to high school five weeks before I booked the role. There were some girls there, they weren’t mean to me, but they were just so fake and manipulative,” says the 19-year-old actress.
“They worry about the stupidest stuff. I’d hear them say things in a certain way, and they were just so conformist. They were the same ones that when I was leaving were like, ‘Bye Brittany, have fun filming!’ I was like, “Yeah, shut up,” she jokes.
Nice to know kids can still learn something in high school!
