Ugly Betty has postponed its fourth season premiere to Oct. 16. That’s not gonna stop the TV DivaGal from getting major storyline scoop for yah, one week early!
Wilhelmina’s daughter Nico is back, and she makes one fashion statement of an entrance.
“The first time you see Nico, she’s covered in blood,” Yaya DaCosta, who assumed the role this summer, tells the TV DivaGal exclusively. Red is the new black!
Nico’s problems stem from a man, of course.
“The drama she is involved actually has to do with a boyfriend,” someone we have yet to see on canvas, Yaya reveals.
As the TV DivaGal broke earlier this summer, Mode‘s biggest players are working it in the Bahamas.
“Nico’s drama is part of the reason everyone ends up in there,”says Yaya, who also interacts with Claire Meade (Judith Light) and faithful Wilhelmina assistant Marc (Michael Urie), this season.
When we last saw Nico, she had a pretty contentious relationship with her mom. Those feelings haven’t faded.
“But she comes into her mother’s life seemingly wanting to reconnect and rekindle a mother/daughter relationship,” Yaya explains.
With Wilhelmina still mourning the lost of her fake son, who she gave back to his rightful mother Christina at the end of last season, Wilhelmina accepts Nico’s faux olive branch faster than a newly editioned Hermes Birkin bag.
“Wilhelmina’s sudden need to nurture and to make up for her past mistakes is there, so yes, Nico does take advantage of that.”
But there’s even a bigger mystery lurking for Nico. How exactly does the show explain a new actress in the role?
“She’s gotten a nose job,” Yaya laughs.
