Last night brought about the end of Ugly Betty as we know it.
We all kind of knew that Betty, who’s evolved beyond the braces and glasses, had also evolved beyond writing about fashion for Mode magazine. She had to go London, not only for the opportunity of a lifetime, but to truly come into her own.
People would have a hard time letting go: Papa Suarez, of course, and the rest of the family. And then there’s Daniel, the one man who’s been a staple in Betty’s life since she started as his assistant four years ago. Yes, we know beside every strong man there’s an even stronger woman, and Daniel finally realized that when Betty could finally admit it to him was time to for her to spread her wings (poignantly visualized as she stood in the Meade elevator).
So how did it all end? If you missed it (like TV DivaGal missed the first 20 minutes when the DVR decided to go on the blitz!), you can catch it at abc.com.
But I will tell you this: As Betty embarked on a new chapter of her life, an old friend decided that it was worth the risk (and a plane ride), to be a part of it.
So how does the cast feel about their end? “We have done such amazing work, it is unbelievable to see this show go off the air,” Marc Indelicato, who plays Justin, tells the TV DivaGal. “We have changed lives here and have made history. The best feeling in the world is to be on groundbreaking TV.”
So here’s to you, Betty. We’ve had a blast on your adventures and mishaps. And we totally dig your new fashion sense. London is lucky to get yah. And we’ll miss you dearly.
