Visit Bar Avalon in Los Angeles For A Great Cup Of Coffee And Eats!
By Delaina Dixon | September 12, 2019 | TravelWhile in Los Angeles, I headed to Echo Park, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, for a cup of coffee at the new spot Revelator: Bar Avalon. Revelator is a coffee company out of Atlanta that’s opening its first spot across the country. Yes, Espresso, Cortado and Cappuccino are on the menu. But I quickly found out that Bar Avalon is offering so much more.
Currently open for coffee and brunch-like items, I enjoyed a refreshing pot of peppermint tea as our host, beverage director Nathaniel Muñoz, brought out some of Bar Avalon’s dishes, created by Chef Joshua Guarneri. They were worth every bite.
In our first dish, deviled eggs are paired with green tomatoes and tonnato, an Italian condiment made with tuna, anchovies, lemon juice and olive oil, for a tart and hearty midday treat.
Ready for a unique salad? Bar Avalon serves wax beans dressed in spicy tomato sauce sweetened with fenugreek herbs and topped with sheep’s yogurt. It’s got the consistency of spaghetti – without the carbs.
Our guest couldn’t wait to dig into the coronation chicken salad sandwich stuffed with grapes and seasoned with curry. Topped on herbed bread with a side of yucca chips, it’s a homage to the sandwich served at the coronation luncheon for Queen Elizabeth ll.
Bar Avalon is just serving tasty small plates until October. That’s when the restaurant will open with a full menu for lunch and dinner. But why wait? Check out Revelator: Bar Avalon today!
