Watch Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 – It’s All About Family!
When it comes to telling stories that get your heart pumpin’, 50 Cent has become the master. His newest installation Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 has all the twists and trips to keep that adrenaline racing. Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) has gotten himself even deeper into trouble with another body count on his conscience, which has got everyone — including mama dealer Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) questioning his motives, along with Tariq’s budding feelings for her daughter Diana. Of course, Monet has her own issues to worry about, and she’s eyeing NBA star Cane as her ticket outta the life. It’s all about protecting family in this series, but one has to ask, at what cost? When it comes to this world, you just have to take the risk — and pray you don’t wind up on the wrong side of a bullet!
The DivaGals had a blast hanging with series newcomers at the after-party inside Le Bain/Boom Boom Room at the Standard Hotel. Watch the premiere of Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 Sunday, Nov. 21 at 9 pm on Starz and its streaming platforms. Check out a sneak peek from season 2 below.
Channel Your Inner Queen At Six The Musical
Remember “Divorced, Beheaded, Died… Divorced, Beheaded, Alive” … that rhyme about King Henry VIII‘s six wives? These royal women are taking back history and telling their own version of how things went down in the new musical Six.
What Is Six The Musical?
This original production features real-life Renaissance queens fictitiously singing about who got dealt the worst hand by King Henry (I’m thinking getting your head cut off is pretty bad), and they slay it in different musical genres styles honoring today’s lyrical queens.
Which pop queens do the wives in Six sound like?
Catherine of Aragon was King Henry’s first wife whom he divorced after 24 years of marriage to wed Anne Boleyn. Catherine’s “No Way” ballad brings up the sass of Beyonce‘s “Ring the Alarm.” The rest of the musical’s songs pay tribute to the stylings of Avril Lavigne, Adele, Rihanna, Ariana Grande and Alicia Keys.
Why should I see Six The Musical?
We love the show’s diverse casting along with the all-female house band. The songs also delve into the constraints put on women in that time — and how many of those still exist today. Bright lights, brighter costumes, powerhouse ballads with infectious beats — the only tough thing is that you can’t jump up and dance along to the beats — may we suggest a special “Stand and Sing-Along” night? Six The Musical, now playing at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Get your tickets today!
