Was one of your New Years resolutions to get married? You’re not the only one!

With This Ring premieres tonight on Lifetime.┬áThe star studded cast features Regina Hall, Eve Jeffers-Cooper and Jill Scott as three best friends who are tired of always being the bridesmaid and never the bride.

Now you know shenanigans gonna happen as they make a vow to no longer be single by the end of the coming year — even with no prospects in sight! The movie is a film adaptation of the bestselling book The Vow, written by Angela Burt-Murray, Mitzi Miller and Denene Millner.

I got to chat with stars┬áTracey Edmonds and Regina about working with each other, how the movie came about┬á and┬á what they took away from This Ring.

What made you want to do the film?

Regina:┬á When I read the script, I thought it was well written; it was smart, and I could identify with it because I remember me and my girlfriends making similar type vows (laughs). It was also helped by the women who were part of bring it to life like, Tracey, Gabrielle, Jill, Eve and I always was a fan of our writer Nzingha Stewart (who works on Pretty Little Liars). I was also excited because this is the first movie where I am a lead.

Tracey: I have been involved with the movie adaptation since 2000. Gabrielle was the one who turned me on to the book. She thought it would make a great movie and after I read it , I agreed and it did.

How much did you love working with such phenomenal women during filming?

Tracey: I loved it. We were out in Cleveland. I can honestly say a beautiful sisterhood was formed. We talked about everything from being in this business to life, love┬á and heartbreak. It was a really good time.

Regina: There was a lot of encouragement and support.

What did you take away from this project?

Regina: Live your “Happy Now” and donΓÇÖt wait!

With This Ring premieres this Saturday, Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
