Three Reasons You MUST Watch The Quad Tonight on BET!

Yo Divas! Ready to go back to college? If you miss the old days where shows like A Different World were at the top of their game well look no further because BET has brought HBCUs back to life.

We attended a special screening and Q&A of the new BET series at the Paley Center, and we got some tea on what makes this show one that can’t be missed.

1. The Quad’s giving an inside look into the black college experience – in the age of Snapchat. Tony Award winner┬áAnika Noni Rose, Different World alum Jasmine Guy┬áand┬áJazz Raycole are the women┬ánavigating this new HBCU world filled with social media and new technologies.┬áOne of their characters get caught doing something bad on Snapchat, and that causes all heck to break loose.

2. Anika’s character has got dra-mah in her life – and we’re not talking the acting the department. As Dr. Eva Fletcher, the newly elected President of the fictional Georgia A&M, Anika is playing a woman who┬áseems to have it all. But peek behind the surface and you’ll see that Eva is┬ájuggling her new demanding job, a crumbling marriage and a troublemaking daughter who doesn’t feel the need to stay in line just cause mama’s in charge.

3. It’s all about BLACK LOVE! With hotties like┬áPeyton Alex Smith,┬áSean Blakemore┬áand┬áRuben Santiago-Hudson, this is definitely a show about┬áblack women loving black men, ┬áwhich we don’t always see on TV today – no shade!

DuringThe Quad’s Q&A, the cast spoke about the importance of bringing this story to life. They felt like they needed to give the world a new insight on the different dynamics of the black college experience. The cast promised the viewers a unique transformational ride throughout the series, and the DivaGals can attest, the first episode did not disappoint.
