WE WERE THERE! Prosciutto Di Carpegna PDO

By   |   July 15, 2024   |   The Soft Life

Prosciutto di Carpegna is the European Union Gem Ham.

The Consortium was center stage at the 2024 Summer Fancy Food Show in NYC, wowing crowds with its tasteful Italian Prosciutto. America is the second largest market for Prosciutto after Italy, so over the next three years, Consorzio will promote its Prosciutto in tastings, food and wine fairs, as well as restaurants and specialty food shows around the country. The purpose is to increase the market and introduce prosciutto to the next generation of foodies.

“Prosciutto di Carpegna is a cured raw ham that’s produced in the Marche region of Central Italy since the Middle Ages. Its production is carefully controlled to comply with strict regulations. Boasting the European Union recognition of PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), its producers guarantee the ham’s high production quality standards.”

Fun foodie fact: “Prosciutto” comes from the Latin word “perexsuctum,” which means “dried.” On the palate, it’s sweet and delicate, with a pleasantly intense aroma and soft texture.

The food was delicious, the wine was divine and the view was breathtaking! Thanks for hosting us!
